Simply put, anarchy is the idea that freedom and democracy aren't just phrases, but are things that our society should truly aspire to. As such, anarchism seeks to eliminate all hierarchical and oppressive institutions to individual liberty. This necessarily includes capitalism and the means by which it persists, the state. In this aim, Freethought Weekly seeks to promote social and political consciousness through discussion and debate of both contemporary and historical issues.
