Our Mission
In the coming decades, humanity will likely create a powerful AI. SIAI exists to handle this urgent challenge, both the opportunity and the risk.
SIAI has three major goals – develop safe, stable, self-modifying Artificial General Intelligence (AGI); support novel research into Artificial General Intelligence and Friendly AI; and foster the creation of an international research community focused on safe AI. Through our research grant programs, fellowships, symposia, conferences, and publications, SIAI supports basic research in AGI, Friendly AI, and related disciplines, to advance breakthroughs and move humanity toward a future of promise.

The Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence is an important nonprofit research institute. The ideas of a successful singularity and friendly artificial intelligence are powerful, but more importantly, relevant. I support the Institute because their work, the research and education they conduct, are unique contributions to this critical area of knowledge.
